What type of wounds are these strips indicated for?

These sutures are indicated for closing small wounds and surgical incisions subject to low to moderate mechanical stress. They can be used in conjunction with sutures or staples, or for reinforcement after their removal.

Do they have antimicrobial action against bacteria, viruses, or fungi?

They do not contain a specific antimicrobial agent. Their function is mechanical and protective; they do not eliminate microorganisms and should not be considered an active antimicrobial barrier.

How long do they stay in place?

The fixation usually remains in place for several days, typically between 5 and 7 days, depending on the anatomical location, movement of the area, and skin condition. The adhesive integrity and the condition of the wound should be monitored.

Are they reusable or rechargeable?

No. This is a sterile, single-use product; reuse is not recommended.

Can they be used on infected wounds?

Not recommended for obviously infected wounds. If signs of infection are present, specific medical treatment should be considered and the dressing removed if necessary.

How are they removed without causing pain or leaving residue?

Removal should be done slowly and parallel to the skin, taking advantage of the acrylic adhesive to minimize discomfort and residue. Generally, they leave no noticeable residue on the skin.

What certifications does the product have?

Classified as a medical device; it generally bears the CE marking. Exact confirmation and other certifications are found on the packaging and in the manufacturer's technical documentation.

1. The skin around the lesion should be carefully cleaned and dried before application.

2. The edges of the wound should be manually approximated to facilitate placement.

3. The protective film on the strip is removed, exposing the adhesive surface.

4. Place the strip perpendicular to the wound, ensuring that each end adheres well to healthy skin.

5. Repeat the placement with additional strips, maintaining a uniform separation between them and avoiding excessive tension.

6. During the first 24–48 hours, prolonged immersion in water should be avoided to preserve the initial adhesion.

7. The strips can remain in place until they detach naturally or until they are removed atraumatically, usually after several days.

8. Periodic observation for signs of infection or detachment is recommended.

- Keep out of reach of children.

- Do not use if you have a known allergy or hypersensitivity to polyester, polyamide, or acrylic adhesives.

- Not recommended for infected wounds, with extensive devitalized tissue, or for very dry wounds where approximation is not possible.

- Avoid prolonged exposure to water during the first 24–48 hours after application to prevent compromising adhesion.

- Store in a cool, dry place; check the expiry date and batch number on the packaging.

- In areas of high mobility or in patients with significant sweating, the duration of adhesion may be reduced; consider fixation supplements if appropriate.

- Minimal adhesive residue is expected; in case of persistent skin sensitivity, consider removal and use of alternatives.

- In wounds with suspected infection, significant exudate, or increasing pain, medical monitoring and removal of the dressing are recommended.
