All product information

The Cosmopor Skin Color 7.2 x 5 cm dressing is a sterile, self-adhesive, single-use sanitary dressing designed for covering and protecting small wounds, post-surgical incisions, and sutures.

Its skin color offers a discreet appearance and its elastic support facilitates adaptation to areas with movement.

The outer polyurethane film acts as a barrier against water, allowing bathing and showering without loss of functionality as long as the dressing remains intact and well adhered.

In contact with the wound, the compress incorporates a layer of polyethylene mesh that prevents adherence to the wound bed and allows for atraumatic removal; beneath this mesh is an absorbent viscose layer that moderates surface exudate.

The medical-grade acrylic adhesive provides secure fixation on healthy skin, minimizing adhesive transfer when removing the dressing.

Technically, it is not a device with antimicrobial or virucidal action; its protection mechanism is physical: a watertight seal against splashes and external fluids, a barrier against contamination by environmental microorganisms, and the blocking of 98% of UVA/UVB radiation, which reduces sun exposure on the covered area.

Protection is maintained continuously as long as the dressing is intact, adhered and dry; the effective duration depends on the location, degree of exudation and activity of the patient.

The design facilitates application and wound control without direct contact: the polyethylene mesh prevents the dressing from sticking to the healing tissue, reducing the risk of traumatic peeling and preserving the physiological moist environment necessary for proper healing.

It is indicated for use in outpatient procedures, postoperative care and management of minor injuries in the home or professional healthcare setting.

Is the dressing sterile and what is it packaged for?

The dressing is supplied in individual sterile sachets, ready for immediate and single use.

Does it protect from water during bathing?

The outer polyurethane film is splash-proof and allows showering or bathing as long as the dressing remains intact and well adhered.

Does it have antimicrobial action or eliminate viruses and fungi?

It does not have specific antimicrobial or virucidal activity; it acts as a physical barrier against bacteria and external contaminants, but does not eliminate microorganisms.

How long can it remain applied?

Protection is maintained as long as the dressing remains intact, adhered, and dry. It should be removed and replaced if it becomes loose, soiled, or excessively wet; the exact duration depends on the location and amount of exudation.

Can it be used on infected wounds?

It is not suitable for wounds with signs of infection (erythema, heat, pus, increased pain). In these cases, medical evaluation and specific treatment should be prioritized.

Is it suitable for sensitive or allergy-prone skin?

The adhesive is medical-grade acrylic; however, in cases of a history of contact dermatitis from adhesives or other components, prior evaluation is recommended. Discontinue use if irritation or an allergic reaction occurs.

Can it be cut to adapt the shape?

The dressing can be adapted with clean cuts before the removal of the protective papers, provided that the integrity of the absorbent pad is preserved.

Can it be reused?

It is for single use only and they do not recommend reusing it.

Does it have health certification?

It complies with the regulations applicable to medical devices and is marketed under CE marking in accordance with current legislation for sanitary dressings.

6. Final removal by carefully peeling from one edge, following the hair growth line where appropriate, to minimize discomfort.

- For external use only.

- Do not apply to infected wounds, extensive necrotic tissue, or skin detachment without professional assessment.
