Clorhexvet 4% Soap Solution is an antiseptic formulation based on 4% chlorhexidine digluconate designed for the cleaning and disinfection of healthy skin in clinical and surgical contexts.
Chlorhexidine exhibits bactericidal, fungicidal, and virucidal activity against a wide range of pathogens: gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus hirae, fungi such as Candida albicans, and certain viruses such as herpes and influenza agents.
The soap matrix facilitates the removal of dirt and skin lipids, while the active ingredient offers rapid action after contact and residual activity on the skin for a period of time that contributes to microbiological control in preoperative procedures and high-risk areas in hospitalization and operating rooms.
Primarily indicated for antisepsis of intact skin in pre-surgical protocols, preparation of surgical fields, antiseptic washing in hospital wards, and preparation of patients for minor procedures. It is not recommended for use on mucous membranes or open wounds.
As it is a topical product, there is no interaction with dietary regimens, nor is it subject to anti-doping certification since it is not administered systemically; however, it does not correspond to the category of products for consumption or supplements subject to sports controls.
The soapy solution presentation facilitates rinsing and minimizes sticky residue; the formulation includes purified water and excipients that optimize the stability and sensory qualities of the product.
Because it is a powerful antiseptic agent, its use should be limited to the indications established by institutional protocols, respecting precautions regarding flammability, environmental toxicity, and eye risk.
