All product information

Aqua Protect dressings combine a waterproof polyurethane film with a polyacrylate-based adhesive and an absorbent central pad (polypropylene, viscose and polyethylene) to provide skin protection for superficial wounds, cuts and grazes.

The layered structure keeps the area isolated from water and external contaminants, allowing showers and aquatic activities such as swimming without compromising the protective barrier.

At the same time, the support film is flexible and breathable, which reduces perilesional maceration and facilitates movement in mobile areas such as fingers, wrists, or joints.

The polyacrylic adhesive provides a strong hold in wet conditions, reducing unintentional detachment and prolonging the protection time as long as the dressing remains intact.

The central compress, composed of a PP/CV/PE mixture, ensures absorption of mild-moderate exudate and prevents adhesion to the wound bed, promoting a moist-controlled environment that is beneficial for surface healing.

These dressings do not act as antimicrobial agents: their main function is a physical barrier against the entry of environmental microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi and contaminating particles, reducing the risk of infection from external contamination.

It should not be interpreted as a treatment for established infections or as a product that eliminates viruses present in the wound.

Indications for use include protection from superficial abrasions, small cuts and superficial punctures, covering the wound after cleaning and disinfection.

Not suitable for deep wounds, heavy bleeding, or severe burns.

Clinical follow-up is recommended if the wound shows signs of infection.

- Waterproofing that allows showering and swimming without loss of protective barrier.

- Flexibility and breathability that minimize maceration and adapt to areas of movement.

- Polyacrylate-based adhesive with strong bonding in humid conditions.

- Central absorbent pad that prevents adherence to the bed and facilitates a humid-controlled environment for healing.

- Physical protection against environmental contaminants (bacteria and fungi), reducing the risk of infection from external contamination.

- Available in two sizes to fit different small wounds and anatomical locations.

- Can be integrated into first aid kits and toiletry bags alongside personal hygiene products such as bath gels, shower gel, deodorants and oral hygiene items.

Are they waterproof and suitable for swimming or showering?

Yes. The polyurethane film acts as a waterproof barrier that protects the wound from water during activities such as showering or swimming, as long as the dressing remains intact.

How long do they stay stuck?

Adhesion depends on the anatomical location, the degree of movement, and exposure to water or friction. They can remain adhered for several hours or even days if they do not get wet, dirty, or lose their integrity; their condition should be assessed periodically.

Do they protect against bacteria, viruses, and fungi?

They act as a physical barrier against the entry of environmental contaminants, including bacteria and fungi. They are not antimicrobial agents and do not eliminate viruses or microorganisms already present in the wound.

Are they reusable or rechargeable?

No. These are single-use dressings; reusing them does not guarantee hygiene or adequate protective function.

Can they cause allergic reactions?

The adhesive contains polyacrylates; irritation or contact dermatitis may occur in people with hypersensitivity to any of its components. If a reaction is suspected, it is recommended to remove the dressing and consult a healthcare professional.

Can they be used on deep wounds or wounds with heavy bleeding?

No. They are not indicated for deep wounds, cuts with significant bleeding, or extensive burns; in those cases, medical attention is required.

-The wound and surrounding skin must be cleaned and disinfected with a suitable antiseptic.

-The area must be dried carefully to optimize adhesion.

-Select a dressing of the appropriate size so that the central pad completely covers the injury with an adhesive support margin around it.

-Avoid stretching the dressing during application to prevent deformation; the polyurethane film should lie flat, without creases.

-Check the dressing periodically and replace it if it becomes wet, dirty, or loses adhesion.

-Do not reuse removed dressings. To remove, gently peel off from one end, being careful not to damage fragile or hairy skin.

-For external use only. Do not apply to mucous membranes, deep wounds, extensive burns, or areas with active bleeding.

-Keep out of reach of children. Discontinue use if irritation, redness, or an allergic reaction occurs on the skin; in such cases, seek medical attention.

-If the wound shows signs of infection (increased redness, local heat, pain, swelling or purulent discharge), consult a healthcare professional.

-Avoid applying to extensively damaged skin or in the presence of severe dermatitis.

-Do not use as a substitute for professional bandaging in injuries that require medical attention.

-Avoid stretching the dressing during application to minimize tightness and risk of premature detachment.

-Mixed pack of 20 units in two different sizes to suit various small wounds.
