- Deep ear cleaning: dissolves earwax, secretions and organic debris, facilitating their removal.
- Antiseptic action: 0.15% chlorhexidine reduces bacterial load and helps control infections.
- Antimicrobial enhancer: Tris-EDTA promotes the effectiveness of subsequent topical treatments.
- Prevention of recurrence: regular use decreases bacterial proliferation and reduces episodes of otitis externa.
- Animal welfare: relieves bad odor and irritation, improving comfort and quality of life.
- Practical application: easy-to-distribute liquid format that allows for homogeneous and convenient cleaning.
Which pets is it suitable for?
For dogs and cats with earwax buildup, secretions, foul odor, or a history of chronic or recurrent bacterial otitis. Always use under veterinary guidance in pathological cases.
How often can I use it?
1–2 times a day for a minimum of 10 days for treatment, or as directed by a veterinarian. For preventative hygiene, it can be used less frequently as recommended by a veterinarian.
Can it be used in conjunction with topical antibiotics?
Yes. Tris-EDTA enhances antimicrobial efficacy, so it is designed as an adjunct before or during treatments prescribed by the veterinarian.
Is it safe for puppies and kittens?
Consult your veterinarian: it is generally safe, but the dosage and indication depend on age and clinical condition.
Can it be used if there is a perforation of the eardrum?
Its use is not recommended if a tympanic membrane perforation is suspected. In such cases, consult a veterinarian immediately.
What signs of irritation or reaction should I watch for?
Persistent redness, increased pain, different discharge, or worsening of the condition; if adverse reactions occur, discontinue use and consult your veterinarian.
How should I store it and where can I buy it?
Keep the container tightly closed in a cool, dry place.
Available for purchase online at online pharmacies and drugstores; search at the large online pharmacy Farmaten or other online drugstores with shipping to the Canary Islands and the rest of Spain.
1. Warm the container with your hands for a few seconds to avoid sudden cold that may make the animal uncomfortable.
2. Apply a few drops into the ear canal or onto the inner ear while gently holding the ear.
3. Massage the base of the ear for at least 1 minute with movements from the root to the tip to promote penetration and dissolution of residues.
4. Wrap a finger with clean gauze or cotton (do not insert cotton swabs into the canal) and carefully insert it into the entrance of the ear canal; gently twist to remove the solution mixture and debris.
5. Repeat until the gauze comes out clean. Also clean the folds and the entire inner ear.
6. Frequency: 1–2 times a day for a minimum of 10 days or as prescribed by a veterinarian.
Technical advice: Use gloves if there are injuries or heavy discharge; avoid inserting rigid objects or cotton swabs into the canal; if the animal shows severe pain, blood, or systemic signs, refer it to the veterinarian before continuing the cleaning.
- Avoid contact with eyes; if contact occurs, rinse with plenty of water and consult a doctor if necessary.
- Do not use if tympanic perforation is suspected without veterinary evaluation.
- Do not administer orally; for veterinary use only in dogs and cats.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Keep the container tightly closed in a cool, dry place, protected from direct light.
- Discontinue use and consult a veterinarian if you experience signs of hypersensitivity, persistent irritation, or worsening of the condition.
- It does not replace veterinary diagnosis or treatment; in chronic or recurrent otitis, professional control is essential to determine the causative agent and the specific therapy.
- It can be used as an adjunct before applying prescribed topical antibiotics, thanks to the potentiating effect of Tris-EDTA.
