What types of diarrhea is it indicated for?

Indicated for diarrheal episodes of acute or chronic origin as a symptomatic measure of support and protection of the intestinal mucosa.

Is it suitable for children?

Suitable for children over 2 years of age following the recommended dosage; not indicated for infants under 2 years of age without medical assessment.

How long does it take to take effect?

The onset of action depends on the origin and severity of the diarrhea; diosmectite exerts a physical action of adsorption and protection that can decrease the frequency and volume of bowel movements in the first 24–72 hours in many cases.

Does the product eliminate microorganisms (bacteria, viruses, fungi)?

Diosmectite has adsorbent capacity on toxins, bacterial particles and enteric viruses, reducing their interaction with the mucosa; it is not described as an active antimicrobial agent that “eliminates” microorganisms in a bactericidal, virucidal or fungicidal manner.

Can it be used with antibiotics or other medications?

Due to its adsorbent capacity, it may interfere with the absorption of drugs administered orally; it is recommended to respect time intervals between the administration of the product and other medications to minimize pharmacokinetic interactions.

Is it a medicine or a food supplement?

Classified as a medical device intended for the symptomatic management of diarrhea; it should not be confused with a medicine or a food supplement.

When should you seek medical attention?

Medical evaluation is required if diarrhea persists for more than 48–72 hours, if there are signs of dehydration, blood in the stool, high fever, or intractable vomiting.

-During the first three days: children over 2 years old, up to 4 sachets per day; adults, up to 6 sachets per day.

-Then reduce the dose by half until the diarrhea disappears completely.

-Each sachet is administered following the instructions in the product leaflet; the contents must be taken orally as directed by the manufacturer.

-If administered together with other oral drugs, maintain an adequate time interval to avoid interference with absorption.

Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Keep out of reach of children.

-Not indicated for infants under 2 years of age without medical evaluation. In case of persistent diarrhea (>48–72 hours), high fever, blood in stools, or signs of dehydration, medical evaluation is required.

-Due to its adsorbent capacity, it may decrease the absorption of other medications administered orally; consider a temporary separation between treatments.

-Food supplements or health devices for diarrhea do not replace a varied and balanced diet or medical attention when necessary.

-Avoid prolonged use without medical supervision.

-Pack with 10 sachets.
