Bucomed Pro Curasept Chlorhexidine 0.20% 200 ml
All product information

Bucomed Pro Curasept Chlorhexidine 0.20% is a professional antiseptic mouthwash formulated for the intensive treatment of gingival inflammation and the protection of the oral cavity.

Its active ingredient, 0.20% chlorhexidine digluconate, offers a powerful broad-spectrum antibacterial activity capable of controlling dental plaque and reducing the risk of infection in inflammatory, post-surgical processes or in sensitive mucous membranes.

The formula incorporates the ADS® (Anti Discoloration System), a technology that limits the formation of stains on enamel and tongue, one of the most frequent side effects associated with chlorhexidine.

Furthermore, it is an alcohol-free formulation, making it suitable for patients with sensitive mucous membranes or who experience burning or dryness with alcoholic formulations.

The PVP-VA copolymer generates a protective film on gums and teeth that prolongs the presence of the active ingredient on the oral surface and promotes the repair of mucosal tissue, increasing clinical efficacy between applications.

Main indications: acute or chronic gingivitis, plaque control in postoperative phases (extractions, implants, periodontal surgeries), mucosal irritations, and as support in orthodontic treatments when mechanical hygiene is insufficient.

- Intensive antiseptic action: chlorhexidine 0.20% with rapid and sustained efficacy against dental plaque.

- Stain prevention: ADS® system that minimizes the risk of dental staining.

- Alcohol-free formula: reduces irritation and burning sensation on sensitive mucous membranes.

- PVP-VA protective film: forms a layer that prolongs the effect and promotes mucosal regeneration.

- Ideal post-operative and for orthodontics: complement to mechanical hygiene when it is limited.

What is this mouthwash for?

It is used for the intensive treatment of gingival inflammation, bacterial plaque control, and prevention of infections in the oral cavity. It is useful in postoperative phases and when mechanical hygiene is insufficient.

How long should I use it?

Usual use: 10 ml, 30 seconds, twice a day for 15 days. Extend only under prescription or recommendation from your dentist.

Can it stain teeth?

The ADS® system significantly reduces the possibility of staining, but in some cases temporary stains may appear that are removed with proper hygiene or professional prophylaxis.

Is it suitable for people with sensitive mucosa?

Yes. Being an alcohol-free formula reduces irritation and burning sensation, making it more tolerable for sensitive mucosa.

Can children use it?

It is not recommended for young children due to the risk of ingestion. For minors, consult a pediatrician or dentist for guidance and dosage.

Can it be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Consult your healthcare professional. In general, the occasional and local use of chlorhexidine is considered safe, but the indication should be individualized.

Can it be used with orthodontics or implants?

Yes, it is recommended as support to control plaque in patients with orthodontics, prostheses, or implants when mechanical hygiene is difficult.

1. Perform your usual oral hygiene: brushing and flossing.

2. Pour 10 ml of undiluted mouthwash (approximately one tablespoon) into a glass.

3. Rinse vigorously for at least 30 seconds, ensuring the product reaches all areas of the oral cavity.

4. Spit out the product and avoid rinsing with water immediately afterwards to maintain its effect.

5. Use twice a day, preferably after brushing, for a period of 15 days.

Technical advice: do not mix with other mouthwashes or rinses in the same session; if you use a toothpaste with SLS, do not rinse immediately with water after the mouthwash to maximize its efficacy; avoid swallowing the product and keep out of reach of children.

- External use: Do not ingest.

- Keep out of reach of children.

- Do not use in case of allergy to any of the components.

- Possible temporary staining of teeth and tongue; maintain good hygiene to remove stains.

- Avoid prolonging treatment for more than 15 days without dental supervision.

- Avoid contact with eyes; in case of contact, rinse thoroughly with water and consult a professional.

- May cause temporary taste alterations.

- Interactions: anionic surfactants (SLS) present in some toothpastes may reduce the efficacy of chlorhexidine; respect the order and timing of use.
