The formula combines 10% urea with ceramides and a set of natural moisturizing factors (NMFs) to target extreme dry skin.
Urea provides mild moisturizing and keratolytic properties that promote the dissolution of excess keratin on the skin surface, facilitating the penetration of other active ingredients.
Ceramides help rebuild the intercellular lipid matrix, improving barrier function and reducing transepidermal water loss. Natural moisture formulas (NMFs) (amino acids, lactate, PCA, and other related compounds) retain water in the stratum corneum, supporting elasticity and reducing tightness.
The lotion includes sodium lactate and lactic acid in concentrations that provide hydration and a light exfoliating action, suitable for skin with scales or roughness associated with xerosis, keratosis pilaris, stable psoriasis and alterations due to diabetes.
Additional ingredients such as shea butter and glycerin provide an emollient and emulsifying phase that facilitates application and a comfortable feel. The presence of ceramide NP reinforces lipid repair and skin resistance against drying agents.
