Acofar Walking Stick

- Improvement of balance and stability during walking.

- More even distribution of body weight, reducing pressure on lower limbs and hips.

- Supports rehabilitation by allowing safe walking and controlled progression of weight bearing.

- Articulated elbow support that adapts the support to the natural movement of the forearm.

- Ergonomic grip that reduces fatigue in hand and wrist.

- Lightweight due to the use of anodized aluminum, facilitating daily transport and handling.

- Compatibility with sports nutrition programs and vitamin supplements in recovery processes.

- Easy maintenance and inspection of its components.

Who should use this type of walking stick?

People in post-operative or post-injury rehabilitation of the lower limb, older adults at risk of falls, and athletes in recovery phase who need temporary offloading or support.

How is the height adjusted correctly?

The height is adjusted so that the forearm rests on the elbow support and the elbow is slightly bent when holding the handle; this maintains a functional posture and prevents compensations in the shoulder and back.

Is it suitable for sports use or competition?

It is a technical aid for support and rehabilitation; it is not a performance item and is not subject to doping controls. Its use in competitions depends on the event regulations and the medical service's criteria.

What maintenance does it require?

Periodic checks of the integrity of the elbow support, handle, height adjustment system, and rubber tip; cleaning with a damp cloth and replacement of the tip when worn.

Can it be used on wet surfaces?

The non-slip tip improves grip, but on very slippery or wet surfaces stability is reduced; caution and inspection of the tip before use are recommended.

Does it interfere with sports supplements or specific diets?

As a non-food device, its use is compatible with sports supplements, multivitamins, protein shakes, and diets such as keto or vegan. Coordination with nutrition professionals is advisable during recovery processes.

-The height is adjusted using the locking mechanism until the forearm rests comfortably on the elbow support and the elbow shows a slight bend.

-The walking stick is preferably placed on the side opposite the weaker or injured limb; during walking, the walking stick support moves forward in coordination with the contralateral leg to maintain stability and symmetry in the walking pattern.

-To climb stairs, the recommended technique is to support the healthy leg first; to descend, the walking stick accompanies the affected leg (these instructions should be adapted to the clinical indication).

-Before each use, check the height lock and the condition of the non-slip tip.

-Cleaning is done with a damp cloth and neutral soap; avoid corrosive products on the anodized surface.

- Do not use the walking stick if it has loose parts, deformed components, or a worn rubber tip that compromises stability.

- Avoid using it on extremely slippery or uneven surfaces without risk assessment; clinical recommendation should be defined by a professional.

- It does not replace total offloading devices (axillary crutches or other aids) when prescribed by a doctor.

- Incorrect height adjustment can cause poor posture, overload on the shoulder and spine, and worsen gait; initial assessment by a physiotherapist or orthopedist is advisable.

- In case of persistent pain, paresthesia, or increased instability, consult the healthcare team.

- The articulated elbow support and the handle must be kept free of grease or moisture that could reduce grip.

- This equipment is not designed to withstand extreme lateral loads; use it according to its function as a walking aid.
