Is this bandage sterile?

No; the bandage is sold as non-sterile. It is commonly used to secure sterile dressings, but for direct application to open wounds requiring sterility, sterile materials should be used.

Does it adhere to the skin or to hair?

No; the adhesion is between the layers of the bandage (cohesive), so it does not stick to the skin, hair, or clothing.

Can it be applied without scissors?

Yes; the bandage allows manual tearing along its weave, eliminating the need for scissors in most applications.

Is it reusable?

No; it is considered single-use for hygiene and adhesive effectiveness reasons. Reuse reduces holding power and increases the risk of contamination.

Does it offer protection against bacteria, viruses, or fungi?

No; the bandage has no antimicrobial or bactericidal/virucidal effect. Its function is mechanical (fixation and compression), not microbial.

Is it waterproof?

It is not completely waterproof; it maintains some resistance to surface moisture, but adhesion and integrity can be affected by prolonged exposure to water.

Can it be used for medical compression?

Provides light/moderate compression suitable for support and control of mild inflammation. It is not a substitute for compression bandages specifically prescribed for chronic venous disease or thrombosis; its use for therapeutic compression should be evaluated by a healthcare professional.

-The area is cleaned and dried before applying the bandage.

-The dressing or element to be fixed is placed on the skin following the clinical indications.

-The bandage is rolled with uniform pressure, avoiding excessive tension that could compromise perfusion.

-When the desired length is reached, the bandage is manually torn along the weave.

-The ends are adjusted by overlapping layers until the necessary stable support is achieved.

-Distal perfusion (color, temperature, sensitivity) is checked after placement and periodically during use.

- Do not apply with excessive tension or leave compressions that cause numbness, paleness or loss of distal pulse; in these cases, it should be loosened or removed.

- Avoid prolonged use on macerated, erythematous skin or skin with signs of infection without prior health evaluation.

- Do not use as a substitute for braces or rigid splints when complete immobilization is required; its function is support and light compression.

- Remove if pain, tingling, a cold sensation or circulatory disturbances occur.

- Non-sterile: When sterile material is required directly on the wound, choose specifically sterilized products.

- Avoid use in patients with a known allergy to any of the textile components (cotton, viscose, polyamide).
