Its semi-permeable structure creates an occlusive microenvironment that reduces transepidermal water loss, promotes the reorganization of the extracellular matrix, and facilitates the proper arrangement of fibroblasts, fundamental processes for the maturation and flattening of a scar. The Be+ Skin Barrier Protection® helps maintain or restore the balance of the skin microbiota in the treated area, minimizing alterations that may perpetuate chronic inflammation. The low molecular weight hyaluronic acid provides localized hydration and enhances the cellular mobility necessary for tissue remodeling without adding noticeable surface viscosity. The bioelastic polyurethane provides flexibility and adaptability to body contours, water resistance, and a discreet appearance due to its transparency.
Its design allows for custom trimming to fit different lengths and widths of scars, facilitating uniform coverage of irregular areas. The dressing physically protects the scar from mechanical friction and partial solar radiation; it does not replace topical sunscreens indicated for intense exposure, but it helps reduce the adverse effects of radiation on tissues undergoing remodeling. Can it be used on any scar?
